The River Barn is beautifully rustic and has a gorgeous Tudor manor house, it has been on my wish list to photograph at for a while. Set within its own manicured walled gardens with walnut trees and topiary makes it just stunning for summer weddings. Combine this with the unlimited options to personalise the main hall and it’s the perfect place to share your memorable day.
I was so excited when Laura and Lella initially got in for me to photograph their civil partnership wedding as they are a super cool couple. Laura is in a band called the Poly-esters, so I knew the dance floor was going to be eventful. I love photographing every moment of a wedding from the moments getting ready right through until their guests hit the dance floor.
The brides chose to get ready on the morning of their wedding together with their family and friends in the beautiful Mains Hall Manor. It’s so incredibly spacious and full of character it was just amazing to document all the memories of the morning and so special that they could share these moments with one another.
One of my most memorable moments from the day was when their respective fathers saw them in their wedding dresses for the first time. The reactions between them both were so similar and so unique to capture with both brides.
The main hall looked stunning for the wedding ceremony with the white carpet aisle dressed with flowers either side. The blank canvas is perfect for you to create your own unique DIY wedding. The girls walked down the aisle with their fathers. The ceremony they shared with family and friends was so beautiful as they personalised their own vows.
The wedding guests all enjoyed reception drinks in the gardens even though it was slightly on the windy side. I took this opportunity to also take the newlyweds for a little wander for some portrait photographs of them both. It was so nice to capture the love between the big hearts of these two gorgeous people!
Music is clearly a big part of their lives, as a friend sang the first dance for them before all the guests then spent the majority of the night on the dance floor rocking out to ‘the blues’ supporting the awesome wedding favours of black sunglasses. It was just perfect!
