How to build your wedding portfolio to attract “Barefoot brides” & “DIY outdoor weddings”
I’ve absolutely loved creating portfolio building days for wedding photographers. My passion for these workshops continues to grow when I see how much I’m helping other photographers create amazing images for their own portfolios. It’s the ultimate way to practice your passion and drive creativity in order to push yourself to be the BEST wedding photographer you can be.
The location for this workshop, “The Free Spirit” has been one of my favourite spots for photoshoots for a couple of years now. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere which means it’s peace and tranquility is the perfect place to get creative. It’s like a secret garden, endless woodland and a little stream parted by giant rocks. Perfect for my initial brief where I wanted to create a styled shoot aimed at wedding photographers looking to attract DIY weddings, barefoot brides or specifically outdoor weddings.
I’ve put endless thoughts into making each one of my workshops as authentic and real as possible. The models were carefully selected as I visualised working with a red head. The bouquet was hand made using only wild flowers to create the rustic feel. The Ivy flower crown was selected from my own garden. The models were barefoot where possible and the dresses got as dirty and wet as the photographers on the day felt they needed to be to capture their own creativity!
Thank you so much for everyone attending this workshop, I think so far this has been one of my favourites. And from what I’ve seen so far your photographs are amazing and I cannot what for you to share them. A massive thank you also to our gorgeous models for the day, Ellarna and Jenny xxx
