Rustic Barn wedding venue in South Wales.

Rosedew Farm is the perfect blank canvas to shape your dream wedding if you’re looking for a barn wedding venue near Cardiff in Wales. If you’re looking for a wedding venue with rustic charm that you can make your own then this is where you can let your imagination run wild. I love documenting weddings at Rosedew Farm.
Situated in the beautiful charming town of Llandwit Major the countryside setting of Rosedew Farm will blow you away. The endless fields create the perfect backdrop and you’re only a couple of minutes from the pebble beach with rolling cliffs. It really is so beautiful for endless unique photo opportunities.

Getting ready at the Farmers Barns and Cottages

Located opposite the Great Barn the cottages are the perfect location to start your wedding preparations. Being so close to your wedding celebrations means that you can have a relaxing morning with your wedding party. The Cow Shed is often the first choice for bridal prep as it’s huge windows overlooking the stunning walled gardens and open plan living space. It means you and your wedding party have the space to enjoy the morning with your hair and make up team. Vicky had many bridesmaids but with so much space it still felt like the most relaxing start to the day.
Meanwhile the groom and groomsmen were starting their morning over in the Stallion’s stable tucked away next door. Just far enough away to not cross paths but close enough so that it’s possible to have photographic coverage of both sides of the wedding parties in the morning leading up to the wedding ceremony.

Getting married at St Illtud’s Church, Llandwit Major

Rosedew Farm are fully licensed to hold civil ceremonies but if you’re looking to have a church wedding like this bride and groom the gorgeous St Illtud’s is worth a visit. Just a short tractor ride away in the nearest village it’s the perfect backdrop to say “I do”. What’s more if it’s a sunny day your guests can also make the short stroll back to your wedding reception.

Wedding Receptions at the Great Barn

The barn is absolutely stunning in itself with lime washed walls and fairy lights glistening throughout the day. You really don’t need to add anything at all to make this gorgeous space wedding ready. Although there are so many options if you’d like to add flowers or drapes. It’s so well suited to both intimate weddings and grand events. The atmosphere just feels so heart warming from the moment you step foot into the restored barn.
Vicky & Luke had a large number of guests so they filled both the barn and the mezzanine for their wedding celebrations which created the real party atmosphere from the moment guests were seated for the wedding breakfast.

Drinks receptions in the courtyard

Vicky and Luke got married on one of the hottest days of the summer which meant that all the wedding guests spent most of their drinks reception in the courtyard both before and after the wedding breakfast. Drinking prosecco and Peroni from the moment they arrived back from the wedding ceremony soaking up the Welsh sunshine set the perfect vibe for the wedding.

Wedding portraits with the bride and groom

The rolling countryside offers endless possibilities for gorgeous wedding photographs of the couple and the wedding party. We took a stroll around the farmers tracks in the afternoon with the wedding party for some group photographs and ended up in the long grass of the rolling fields.
Later in the evening the golden hour sunset is rich and golden, flowing over the south coast. The beach located just five minutes drive away was the ideal backdrop and on the wishlist for this couple. However with sunset being after 10pm in the summertime this bride and groom were having far too much fun busting moves on the dancefloor with their guests. Therefore we opted for a romantic walk up the hill to chase the golden hour. I’m so pleased that we did do this as they are some of my favourite photographs from the day.

Vicky and Luke, thank you so much for inviting me to document your wedding day. It was such an incredibly FUN celebration from beginning to end. There’s so many highlights for me that I’ll definitely treasure for a long time to come. I’m so pleased that you LOVE your photographs as much as I do. Hopefully I’ll see you guys at another wedding celebration very soon xxx
