Hurlston Hall Wedding Photographs

I was joined on the day by a wonderful second photographer Olivia Whittaker who captured the story of the boys on the wedding morning. This was something very important to the Groom as he went to see his late father on the way to the church. Having a second shooter allowed the us together to capture the wedding perspective from both angles in the morning and also during the wedding itself. Thank you Olivia! 

Wedding Ceremony at St Marie’s Church Southport

I have to say I always feel like it’s slightly unfair to the Groom’s on the morning of a wedding day. They generally have quite a bit of waiting around in the morning and a lot of eyes looking ahead from the church pews as they await their bride to step foot down the aisle. It’s no wonder they always look so nervous waiting in church. Johnny was no exception to this. One of my favourite images from the day is his mum touching his shoulder offering a calming sense of reassurance. 

Alex arrived at the church in her wedding car with her father which was a lovely surprise from Johnny. I specifically remember Alex smiling from ear to ear which must have been a treasured moment for her and her father on the wedding morning. It definitely didn’t take long at all for Johnny’s face to light up to the same level as he saw his beautiful bride float down the aisle. 

After a heart warming wedding ceremony the couple were greeted outside by their family and friends, not only by the blue skies above but masses of confetti showering down on them. It looked magical.  

Picturesque Wedding Reception

The grounds within Hurlston Hall offered so many beautiful locations for amazing wedding photographs, with colourful flowers, little walkways and gorgeous sunlight beaming through. I don’t think to get to involved when it comes to taking portraits of the bride and groom on a wedding day because I believe it’s the perfect time for you guys to be you and feel what it’s like to be married so the pictures can take you right back to such a memorable moment. 

The wedding reception was so full of joy and laughter, an incredible celebration to document for the newlyweds. The highlights have to be Johnny speaking or attempting to speak Polish to the Bride’s immediate family during the Groom’s speech, his dedication to his father not only within his speech but also on the dance floor, which you can see as he rips his shirt off during the first dance. As a documentary photographer I feel it’s my passion to capture these moments in the most natural way possible to keep such important memories alive. It honestly feels like yesterday.
