LANCASTER REGISTER OFFICE
You know what you want. It’s not a marquee. Not a weekend-long production. Just the two of you, a handful of the people you love most, and a room with a little Georgian history.
Whether you’re planning an intimate legal ceremony, a quiet elopement, or simply want to make it official. Lancaster Register Office is one of the most quietly beautiful places in Lancashire to get married.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT GETTING MARRIED AT THE LANCASTER REGISTER OFFICE.
Lancaster’s register office sits inside a Grade II listed Georgian building on Queen Street. Right in the heart of the city. It’s the kind of building that does something to you as you walk in. The proportions are right. The light is good. There’s a quiet dignity to it that a modern hotel function room will never quite replicate.
The ceremony room is on the ground floor and seats up to 36 guests. It’s accessible and unhurried. Ceremonies typically run 15 to 20 minutes, though the feeling of them tends to last considerably longer.
The address is Georgian House, 4 Queen Street, Lancaster, LA1 1RS. There’s no on-site parking, but pay and display is available along Queen Street, and a multi-storey car park on Common Garden Street is just a two-minute walk away.

reasons to choose me as your lancaster register office photographer
I show up quietly, I read the room and I shoot in a way that lets the day breathe.
The moments you’ll want to remember. The glance across the room before the registrar starts, the way your hands look when you sign the register, the exhale when it’s over and it’s real, those happen on their own. My job is just to be ready for them.
I’ve photographed weddings at the register office and at venues across the Lancashire. I know where the light falls, I know the walk to the historic streets, and I know how to make portraits feel like you.

REASONS TO HAVE A LANCASTER REGISTER OFFICE WEDDING

THE SETTING
CEREMONY
Georgian architecture. A ground floor room flooded with the kind of light that flatters everyone in it. Up to 36 guests, which means the people in that room are the ones who really matter. Intimate without feeling small.
THE LOCATION
CITY
Lancaster is one of the most underrated cities in the North for post ceremony portraits. The castle. The Priory. The medieval street grid. Williamson Park, with the Ashton Memorial rising above the tree line. There’s a grandeur to this city that arrives quietly and photographs beautifully.
PORTRAIT READY
BACKDROP
Lancaster has a generous supply of the kind of backdrops editorial photographers dream about. Centuries of history, compressed into a walkable city centre. After your ceremony on Queen Street, we’re minutes from castle walls, a cathedral on a hill, Georgian terraces, and one of the most iconic park buildings in the North West. Wherever we go, the city will show up for you.

READY TO
PARTY
A city centre wedding means a city full of options for what comes next. Long lunches, private dining rooms, an afternoon of it. Lancaster has restaurants, boutique hotels, and venues that work brilliantly for small celebrations with big atmosphere. You can make a whole day of it. Many couples do.

Civil ceremonies at Lancaster Register Office typically run for around 20–30 minutes. You can choose your own music and personalise your vows within the civil ceremony framework — the registrar will guide you through what’s allowed when you meet to go through the details.
As for photography, I offer bespoke packages for register office weddings rather than a one-size approach. Some couples want two hours covering the ceremony and portraits. Others want a half-day that includes getting ready and ends with drinks somewhere. Get in touch and we’ll work out what makes sense for your day.

HISTORIC, INTIMATE
&UNFORGETTABLE.
A Lancaster city ceremony with real feeling behind it.
A room that holds thirty-six people, really holds them — rather than the vast emptiness of a venue built for two hundred. Georgian stone and quiet light and the person you’re marrying standing right there, close enough to count the breath between you. Lancaster Register Office ceremonies have an honesty to them. Nothing is performed. All of it is real. And that is, in my experience, what makes the most extraordinary photographs.

Hey, I’m Toni. I love old photographs, the kind with crumpled edges that your grandparents would dig out on a rainy day. I love that they would always know the full story hidden within every single one. I have an obsession with polaroids and real film, giving me that feeling where one memory could live a life of it’s own.
