Down to Business Wedding Photography Workshop

Yesterday I held my first wedding photography workshop in Lancashire! And I’m on a MASSIVE high! It’s so nice to be able to share my knowledge and experience as a wedding photographer but it also feels great to be providing honest advice in how others can also run a successful wedding photography business.

Thank you so much to all those who booked on the course and for giving up their time on a Sunday to pop over to rainy Lancashire! My plan was to create a cosy and friendly learning environment where everyone felt completely comfortable. Our little group was so much fun, I always feel so honoured to meet such lovely people who are genuinely willing to learn.

I started the day by walking and talking everyone through marketing their own wedding photography business, providing tips and tricks that I have learned on my own journey of becoming a successful wedding photographer. Talking through all the ways you can increase your own enquiries right through to nailing enquiry meetings and creating bookings! Alongside this I showed how I use management software and apps to speed up the efficiency in my workflow so I can spend more time doing the things I love!

After scoffing some pizza for lunch we braved storm Brian and headed out to scout a nearby location for shooting our gorgeous models Jasmine & Sam. It was important for me to show the attendees how to create beautiful photographs in a very average environment. I could have taken them to a beautiful venue or a gorgeous location but instead I thought it would be more beneficial to teach everyone to find there own amazing photographs from nowhere. Let’s face it – if you can learn the tools to create amazing photographs it will help you manage any and every situation you maybe faced with in the future!

Late afternoon we returned to the roaring fire with tea and biscuits while we got down to the nitty and gritty of editing and post production. Displaying my editing do’s and don’ts to show fast and efficient ways of making your photographs stand out in a busy market. Taking everyone through how I process and deliver my final images to my brides and grooms in a way to make everyone happy, including google!

I can honestly say I am now on an absolute high. I love sharing my thoughts, ideas and knowledge because I feel so passionate about helping others in every way I possibly can. Thank you so much all of you for coming and to Jasmine and Sam for braving the crazy weather! I cannot wait to see each and everyone of you grow your own business in wedding photography!
