Mercure Haydock Hotel Wedding
The Mercure Haydock Hotel is a Georgian mansion style building all built around a central courtyard with beautifully landscaped grounds. Located perfectly between Manchester and Liverpool situated just off the M6 motorway it’s ideal location for my bride and groom.
For Di & Ronnie getting married was all about finding the perfect wedding venue with a great location and a large enough space where they could celebrate this very special day with all of their family and friends, which turned out to be a big celebration of marriage.
From my initial phone call with Di I knew they were the perfect couple for me to photograph and especially my style of photography. It became instantly clear that a documentary style of photographer was a high priority. They wanted someone to capture the wedding day in a completely unposed manor, more importantly to be discreet and photograph the day completely unposed so they had a selection memories that would allow them to relive their special day in a timeless way.
It’s always so nice to step back and witness true love and true emotion on a wedding day. Allowing me to have complete free reign and creativity meant that I almost had access all areas to document a very real and very honest love story. Documenting a wedding for me is all about the people and their relationship not only between each other but their families and friends too.
Thank you to this very special couple for allowing me to be a part of your wedding and for trusting me completely to document the very true love you both have for each other.
Evening wedding reception with Liverpool Clan Wallace Pipe Band
I remember when Di first contacted me about a year ago, she was looking for someone who wouldn’t mind staying a little later as she wanted to play with her friends in the Liverpool Clan Wallace Pipe Band. I’ll be honest, I didn’t really know what to expect! I love capturing the evening receptions at weddings because this tends to be when your friends and family really let their hair down as they really get into the party groove – so my natural answer was of course.
I have to say the Pipe Band were absolutely incredible not only to photograph but to watch and listen too! The whole of the wedding party had their eyes fixated on the amazing atmosphere as the Pipe Band ruled the room. If you’re a lover of Celtic music then these guys are an absolute must see.
