The Inn at Whitewell in Lancashire is one of my all time favourite wedding venues. It has such a warm, peaceful and cosy feel to it and provides so many options for beautiful wedding photographs. It’s a perfect choice for bride and grooms.
This old fashioned rural inn was built in the 1300s as a small manor house. Situated in one of the most picturesque areas of the Ribble Valley, it is one of Lancashire’s well kept secrets. It sits high above the river Hodder and provides you with the most stunning views over the valley of the Forest of Bowland.
Why I love working at the Inn at Whitewell
There are so many reasons why I love capturing weddings at the Inn at Whitewell. Every single wedding I have photographed there has been so unique and there are so many options for perfect wedding photographs.
Just a short walk from the entrance, the beautiful gardens and stepping stones are so romantic whilst the interior of the Inn has so much character. Perfect for cosy winter weddings.
The staff here are also brilliant and so helpful. This makes a big difference and means that weddings here always run perfectly, meaning all you have to do is relax and have the best time ever.
St Michael’s Church, Whitewell
Just next door to the Inn at Whitewell is the beautiful St Michael’s Church. If you are planning on having your reception at the Inn at Whitewell, you may be interested in also booking the church for the wedding ceremony. This quaint little church is a popular choice for couples getting married as it is so photogenic and is literally just a 2 minutes walk to your reception.
Marquee weddings.
One of the things I love most about the Inn at Whitewell is the stunning marquee where bride and grooms have their wedding receptions. When dressed for a wedding, the Marquee looks absolutely amazing and it is perfectly situated providing stunning views across the valley from it’s private garden.
The great thing about marquee weddings is that they also allow you really personalise your wedding to your personal taste. You have so much freedom to decorate the marquee to how you want it to look.
Another reason I love this venue so much is that there is no phone signal at all. I think there is something quite calming and peaceful knowing that all your family and friends can have no distractions and therefore be totally focused on you and your wedding day.
I have been lucky enough to take lots of wedding photographs at the Inn. Every one which I have photographed there has been amazing. The Marquee is perfectly situated allowing stunning views from it’s private garden. Marquee weddings allow you really personalise your wedding to your personal taste.
Capturing your wedding in a documentary style.
I love to capture weddings in a natural documentary style so that you look back at the photographs to remember the story of your wedding day. Every wedding follows a particular format but it is often the moments in between the main parts of the day which tell the real and unique story of your wedding day and it is those that I aim to capture. By working in a documentary style I can record the true story of your day in a very unobtrusive manner, it is your day, not mine.
You can find out much more about my style by visiting my documentary weddings page and also clicking here to read the unique stories behind some of my favourite wedding photographs.
