Hardcastle Crags Wedding Photography.
I’ve you’ve never been to Hardcastle Crags, GO! It’s absolutely stunning. If you’re looking for a slightly alternative wedding venue, an intimate wedding or an outdoor wedding ceremony then this is going to be right up your street. Set back in masses of it’s own land this National Trust location is truly beautiful. In the spring, summer months the fields are filled with bluebells and in the autumn the warming colours are just stunning.
A couple of weeks ago I was asked to photograph a styled photoshoot organised and styled by the super talented florist Sarah of Simply by Arrangement. I absolutely love organising and taking part in styled photoshoots and portfolio building workshops as I feel they are a great way to experiment and get creative with new ideas. That’s why I run my own portfolio building workshops.
Sarah not only creates the most stunning floral arrangements, but she holds floristry workshops so you can learn to get creative, learn the basics and it involves cake too! Sarah wanted to give the National Trust some images that would truly represent the wonderful space they hold which would be the perfect backdrop and surroundings for outdoor wedding ceremonies.
We teamed up with Lisa Emmett, our fabulous make up artist and also Amanda Cockett who whips up the most intricate hair styles within mintues! Mandy also has the face of an angel so she managed to team up as one of our models for the day too. Alongside Mandy was our gorgeous second model Natalie. They worked so well together on the day providing us all with some gorgeous images true to the brief. We wanted to create a shoot that really lends itself to this gorgeous wedding space. Encouraging same sex marriages to take place here we decided to go full steam ahead to show the full creative potential.
We couldn’t have wished for a better day in terms of the weather. The sun was ridiculously bright allowing me to shoot for all the highlights whilst hunting in the shadows. I wanted to really show the full perspective that this gorgeous outdoor wedding venue could really offer. Placed in the middle of woodland in the tiny valley we walked up to the high spots of the rocks to find the sun beaming down. Spoilt for choice we also used the fields of bluebells which perfectly suited the headpieces. The locations which are more likely to be recognised are the stepping stones closer to the mill and also the outdoor area where weddings are to be held.
It was such a great day, thank you all for asking me to be a part of the little adventure. I’m more than excited to share my favourites.
