Dream country house wedding
Emma and Henry are so incredibly lovely and extremely romantic. I was so pleased when they asked me to document their dream wedding day at Falcon Manor. I knew from the moment I met the bride and groom that it was going to be a dream to photograph their special day. Not only to photograph and document the moments happening between family and friends but I was also looking forward to photographing at this gorgeous wedding venue.
The beautiful Country House Falcon Manor is a relatively new wedding venue, located in the small town of Settle in the Yorkshire Dales. It’s just the perfect wedding venue at any time of year. The gardens however are incredibly divine for gorgeous weddings in summer. The interior of the country house is so warm and cosy complete with roaring fires which is perfect for more romantic creative portraits in the evening time but also amazing for smaller intimate winter weddings and celebrations.
Falcon Manor is also one of the James Places Group. I’ve worked at many of their venues before including Mitton Hall, Shireburn Arms and Eaves Hall. The staff are so accommodating and the food is beyond amazing. They really are the leading wedding venues within the North-West.
Back to Emma and Henry.
Emma got ready with her team of bridesmaids in the glamorous Bridal Suite at Falcon Manor. It really is jaw dropping. You even need to take a run up to the bed, it’s that grand! The girls were really organised and so relaxed. This made photographing bridal preparations at Falcon Manor more than a pleasure. They did have a couple of drama’s but still kept calm throughout.
Henry arrived at Falcon Manor in good time for the ceremony. This was a great opportunity for me to pop downstairs to capture him welcoming their wedding guests. They waited in a light filled modern ceremony room. This also overlooks the gardens to the rear of the hotel which is so picturesque.
One of my favourite moments of the day was Emma walking down the aisle with her mum. It was quite emotional. The relief on Emma’s face when she reached the top was the moment I realised how perfect they are for each other.
After the ceremony the guests made their way into the snug and bar for reception drinks. I then found most of them soaking up the last of the summer sun. During the reception I took Emma and Henry for a walk round the gardens for some wedding portraits. This time of day is really important to me. I think it’s the perfect opportunity for the Bride and Groom to take a moment to have a little time for themselves too. My style of relaxed wedding portraits really allows them to be totally into each other. This allowed me to capture wedding portraits at Falcon Manor which would instantly take them back to their wedding day.
One of the reasons I personally love Falcon Manor as a wedding venue is because of the variety it has to offer. I usually take my couples for two small portrait sessions. Once in the afternoon and again during the evening. Falcon Manor offers the perfect opportunity for two completely different types of wedding portraits. The gardens are so beautiful for wedding portraits. Perfectly pristine and secluded. The interior of Falcon Manor has so much character and so many light pockets for timeless romantic portraits. I love it!
